Chris Stevenson

Consultant

Chris Stevenson is a highly accomplished executive with 25 years of progressive leadership experience in the nonprofit sector.  Chris uses his engaging and charismatic style to create compelling internal cultures that connect all stakeholders to the organization’s mission. He has a track record of success working with board members and senior-level staff to create uniquely tailored strategic plans with specific goals that focus on innovation and quality.

Chris recently served as President/CEO of Cedar Lake for 10 years.  During his tenure, he and his team successfully created and completed a multi-year, multimillion-dollar comprehensive campaign to transform the organization’s culture by creating opportunities to further engage its various stakeholders, strengthen its business infrastructures, and professionalize employee training and accountability measures. Prior to Cedar Lake, Chris served as CEO of Pillar Support Services (formerly Apple Patch) for 9 years where he designed and implemented a multi-year strategic plan and capital campaign to significantly grow the nonprofit.  Chris and his team successfully raised several million dollars to create one of the nation’s first integrated neighborhoods for people with intellectual disabilities. As a result of this transformative vision, the nonprofit grew from 5 employees that served 6 people, to 170 employees serving 240 people – and received a Business of the Year award from the Oldham County Chamber of Commerce before his departure.

He has served on several boards of directors and most recently concluded his service as the Chair of a national board. Chris is also a sought-after conference keynote speaker and has taught leadership and fund development classes at Sullivan and Bellarmine University.

Chris resigned his post as CEO of Cedar Lake in September 2021 to pursue his love for teaching and consulting. Chris states, “I am honored and thrilled to join Ashley|Rountree because of their stellar reputation in Louisville and the surrounding region. Their ‘concierge’ level of service delivery to their clients aligns perfectly with my leadership values. I look forward to continuing to make significant contributions to the nonprofit community in their effort to make the world a better place.”
